Hi Bert,

I know you are out there somewhere. If you read this post, contact me
offline @ careplus@execpc.com. I deleted your email address after your last
post.

I am concerned about your lack of success with your breeders. I cannot
imagine the "Black Knights" not breeding for 18 months. Since I last spoke
with you, I have 4 more pregnant mamas.

I am concerned that you did not follow "1" fundamental step.

If you read this, contact me.

Thanks.......Steve (p.s.) does this read o.k. Paula??

Hi Paula,

This is your favorite pest.

I may have the opportunity to test your system sooner than anticipated. One
of my 800 gal is full and I have 300 babies in 10 gal's growing and I have,
I thought 2, 4 pregnant mama's as we speak and that will be another 400
babies...I'm running out of room.

Would love to test your system. Wow, can you imagine a Paula & Steve
consortium......scary.....besides that, all kidding aside, would love to
have you in my corner to answer questions. See, when I mentioned what a
great moderator you are...see the response you got.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT?? THEY WERE ALL CORRECT!!

Kidding aside...contact me offline at: careplus@execpc.com
and let me know what i have to do and the cost of your system.

Thanks a million.......Stevre

Dear friends

I am new to the list and do not practice aquaculture but am
very interested in this farming method. I grew up on a farm
in the semi dessert region of South Africa, the Karoo, and
currently am working at the Cape Technikon as a technician
in Mechanical Engineering. Since efficient water usage was
always very important on the farm, I came to realize that
aquaculture may be the answer. Since the specific region is
very cold in winter and dry and not so warm in summer,
highest temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, I thought that
maybe trout is the answer. Does anybody have experience with
farming Trout combined with lettuce or strawberries? Also,
did anyone tried farming Maron in a closed loop water
system.

Best regards

Attie Esterhuyse

Welcome Attie,
The United States Dept of Agriculture Agricultural Research Station in
Kearneysville West Virginia has done aquaponic research using trout
effluent. They grew both strawberries and lettuce. It was not a
recirculating system. They trucked trout effluent to the facility and
used it in nutrient film troughs and vertical growing systems. The
purpose of their research was to demonstrate the effectiveness of the
plants to remove excess nutrients from the trout effluent.

I read all the data I.B.M. but nobody talked about trout, and since they are super sensitive fish I figured I would refer to the group.
