In reply to the turtle raising thing with the mayan indians, they probably
don't have access to 40% protien food like we do. Hydro growers all know
what happens when you tailer an organism, plant or in this case, a reptiles
environment to ideal levels. They grow. And they grow well. What we plan to
do in this next year, is hatch 500 or more eggs, test the results of wild
captives in the the breeding arena, and continue to follow S&S's philosophy
of simpler and less is more. We started in a 2' oval rubber horse-feeder, we
have wells that produce 50 gallons per min, one shoots water nearly two feet
out of a four inch clay tile. I'm sure we will sell some stock later,
especially if we have to pond or tub raise brood stock to breed in
captivity. It's a relatively new venture from a commercial standpoint, but,
like you, we gotta dream, an idea, and we're the kinda guys that are just
darn handy to have around. I'm a CCRN and a paramedic, you know the profile.
chat on!! I'll check back later. Bioman.
