Hi All,

I am planning a small hydro set-up with
floating net pots and would like to know where
to get the styrofoam sheets for flotation. I am
in a major metro area so I should not have to
have it shipped. But should I be looking at Home
Depot or some other specialty place like a Florist
Supplier ?

   Thanks in Advance,

    Al

Well, I don't know where you are located. Locally, here in Fredericksburg
Virginia, I purchase the foam at Mid-Atlantic Foam. You can buy it in 4'x12'
sheets, etc.

Here is the link: http://www.gafoam.com/MADocs/MAProducts.htm

Al , home depot would be just fine, thickness of 1 to 1.5 inches works
great.

A lot of businesses throw it away by the truckload- not peanuts either
but sheets/squares.I picked up a " half cord" one day of 20 by 24 inch
sheets 1 1/2" thick.Industrial parks are great for materials salvage.

Hi Joy,
I live in Israel, raise earthworms (vermicompost)
and will be establishing an aquaponics attachment on a commercial fishfarm
pond.
Worm castings are a rich fertilizer source for crops, and
can be added to the fish effluent. Know of any other folks doing this?

Al,

I like the Dow Blue Board which is available at Home Depot. It is used
as insulation and you will find it near the lumber. It is nice and
dense, easy to cut.

Hi Al,

I'm running about a day late, so you probably have several answers by now.
Yes, go to Home Depot, that is where I got mine. They are very cheap.

Later.......Steve
