Hi,

I use 12 volt timers that I bought from Alternative Energy Engineering.
They can be found at http://www.alt-energy.com or 800-777-6609.

I ordered a high/low float and relay from them today. It sounds like what I was looking for. Thanks again. jerrry ----- Original Message ----- From: "W.Warren" To: Sent: Thursday, April 27, 2000 3:11 AM Subject: 12 volt timers > > Subject: 12 volt timers or high/low float switches > > From: "Jerry Eschberger" > > Date: Wed, 26 Apr 2000 19:11:17 -0700 > > > > > > I'm trying to design a 12 volt pump system powered by solar energy. I'm going to throw something out to you. I know the pro's on the list are getting tired of hearing me say this. But, have you considered breeding and growing your own Tilapia? Seems like everytime someone has a problem with Tilapia (illness, disease, etc), almost 100% of the time, it is from fish that have been bought. (I am certainly not knocking any of the fine Tilapia breeders out there. So, don't come after me with "guns smoking".) I have been in the Tilapia breeding/raising business for 6 months now. (I know guys...I'm a rookie...) The only fish that I have lost (& I have lost hundreds) have been due to my own inattention and inexperience. All of the fish that I have lost have been in the 10-gal tanks which is the intermediate stage before going into the 2,000 gal system. This is when they are the most crowded, most succeptable to ammonia/nitrite poisoning. You have to watch them like a hawk. I have not lost a single fish that has made it into my system. Seems like if they are bred from the same stock (I have 4 male and 6 female breeders.I plan to expand this shortly to 6 male and 9 female.) they develop a good immunity because they are in the same environment from eggs to adulthood. Just a thought...something to think about. But, if you do decide to go this route, be prepared. It is a lot of work to keep the tanks clean. It is a true "labor of love", but these guys will produce thousands of babies. Take care.........Steve ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Thursday, April 27, 2000 9:25 AM Subject: RE: aquaponics greenhouse > I am Jason,,,a new member,,,trying to learn a few things,,,,I just now > lost one of > my baby Tilapia,,,noticed clusters of white thread-like (parasites?) down > near the > tail on both sides, approx 3-4 mm long,,,,like little fields of corn,,,Can > anyone help > to identify/treat before I lose more fish ? >
