In regard to the recent postings on OTEC [ocean thermal energy

conversion] if you want to read about this and its relation to

hydroponics/aquaponics amongst other subjects such as going to the

stars, [ this is for real] then check out :http://www.luf.org/

These people have VISION.

Gravel will add Ca, Mg, carbonates and other minerals depending on the

material. This is good. It can serve as a buffer. Jim

Hello Paula, I don't know if you remember me but we exchanged e-mails about

setting up a newsgroup on ferrocement similar in format to the aquaponics

group. Thanks in part to your help I have succeeded and the group has been

functioning for for 4 days now. My website is at www.ferrocement.net .

To subscribe to the group send an e-mail to

ferro-users-request@ferrocement.net and put join in the subject line. To

leave send to the same address and put the word leave in the subject line.

To post to the group once you are subscribed send to

ferro-users@ferrocement.net All instructions are also on the website.

If you would be so kind could you please post this info. on the aquaponics

list at your convenience. Thank you for your help Paula and I still

think the aquaponics list is the best group I have experienced . Sincerely,

Paul Sarnstrom hoh@montrose.net

Hi Adrianna,I'm growing most of it aquaponically to start, then transfering to

soil, letting it get get established, then selling it.I am experimenting a

lot, aquaponic versus soil, the coleus and celosia does 10 times better

aquaponic than in soil with Peter's Special or Miracle Grow, out of everything

I've sold so far,the Coleus is by far the hottest seller.I bought 2 -4 inch

pots of Mexican heather for $.98 at Home Depot, seperated them into 26 hanging

baskets, grew them out for two weeks and sold them for $6.00 each, thats a buck

cheaper than Walmart, another hot seller, how is everyone else doing? Thanks Ken
