It must have just been temporarily down, as I found the pages

(A HANDBOOK FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CEA-GROWN HYDROPONIC LETTUCE)

 just now at:

http://www.cals.cornell.edu/cals/dept/flori/lettuce/

Well worth a visit and bookmark.

Kevin,

Check out the Fungi Perfecti site:

http://www.fungi.com/

>Does anyone know of a good place to purchase pre inoculated grow bags for

various mushroom varieties?

About the nematodes, Gardens Alive! has a variety of beneficial

nematodes

including one that does in grubs, cutworms, armyworms, pillbugs, etc.

Only one catch, they are pricey. 10 million treats 200 square feet and

costs $23.75. I'm not sure they have a web site. Call them at

812-537-8650.

>There was another thing ya'll may be able to help me with ... carnivorous

nematode eating nematodes.

Hope your trip is "fruitful",

Adriana

 Tom Osher http://bagelhole.hypermart.net,

Is there more information on the system you mention? What and where in

North Carolina?

I have been going through some back issues of The Growing Edge and came

across some research on fungicides and pesticides.

5 teaspoons of baking soda to 1 gallon of water is an effective fungicide

that works especially well on Black Spot and Powdery Mildew

and Kelp and Seaweed sprays work well as pesticides against spider mites ,

aphids , white flies , and thrips. Also they quoted a study done in the 60's

that the above also increases resistance to stress and frost.

Nice research Ron,

The kelp and seaweed will also fertilize the plants. Was there any

indication of dilution rates? I'm still having mixed results with a

rotation of soaps, pyrethrin and neem. Coverage is still a problem

under the leaves of the tatsoi so I am about to try setting up a tunnel

over the bed and connecting my Atomist to it for a few minutes to

completely fill it with fog.

Adriana

the article states 1 tablespoon per gallon 4 times a week if pests are

noted. twice a week when under control. The article mentions that it kills

the eggs of sucking insects.
