Apologies for replying to such an old message. I have been busy and

catching up on backup now.

In my area of Oregon I am selling 60 edible flowers for $10.00. I have

been selling all that I can grow. I plan to put in more next spring than

I did this spring. I grow pansies, nasturtiums, snapdragons, english

daisies, roses, lavender, geraniums. I have had very good luck with

nasturtiums in kind of nft systems. Kind of meaning I build trays about a

foot wide and, in my case, 30 feet long, mounted on the wall of one of my

greenhouses, sloped, fed from the top, draining into a tank and back

again. I have curtains of nasturtiums. They are subject to aphids and

spider mites. I use Neem and M-pede to control. The snaps, english

daisies and lavender are soil grown. I haven't tried them in hydro yet. I

find though that pots filled with soil mix placed in my ebb and flow

tables seem to grow almost anything.

Another worth while addition may be chives. One can harvest the leaves as

usual, but the flowers may be a neglected harvest. Chive flowers are

beautiful, as my neighbor commented, but felt silly when I told her they

were chives. Tell your customers to disassemble the flower heads and

sprinkle the little florets as a decorative and tasty addition. Don't use

the flowers whole as their flavor is VERY strong chivey. They can even be

picked as they just open and dried for use later. Others have testified

that they do well in an aquaponics system.

Pineapple mint is also a pretty and tasty good grower. Use as a garnish in

teas or with lamb.

Wendy

You can get a copy from Aquaticeco Systems. They have an online catalog.

That is how I got my copy a while back. Use your search engine to locate

the URL for the company, they are online and have a comprehensive range of

products for the aquaculture industry and even hydroponics to a lesser extent.
